Panic phrase
Set a word or sentence. Typing it as a message will instantly wipe everything on this device and redirect to google.com. Useful if someone is reading over your shoulder.
Make it something you'd plausibly type but is unlikely to come up by accident. Case-insensitive, exact match.
Retention
Default: encrypted on this device, automatically deleted after 90 days. More retention options — including immediate-only mode and cross-device backup — coming soon. See privacy for the architecture.
Diary log
Off by default. If on, Stay quietly extracts a one-line structured entry — emotion + intensity, urge (acted on or resisted), notable event, or coping skill you used — each time you describe one in conversation. Encrypted on this device. Yours alone. Exportable as Markdown for your therapist on the log page.
Turning off stops new logging immediately. Existing entries stay until you delete them on the log page.
Anonymous usage stats
Off by default. If on, Stay sends a tiny set of event names so I can see how the product is used at a population level: a session started, a crisis resource was surfaced, a safety plan was generated. Names only — never message content, never insights, never anything you typed.
Each device gets a random anonymous id. There are no accounts, so the id is not linked to you. Turning this off (or deleting everything above) removes the id immediately.
Quick exit
The button in the top right of every page (or pressing Escape) takes you to google.com immediately and clears your conversation from this device. Use this if someone walks in unexpectedly.

This is v0. I'm one person, and I read every piece of feedback personally. If Stay said something harmful or missed something important, I really want to know.

- Email it to hello@thestay.app with any context you want to share.
I read it personally. Your identity never appears (I don't have it), and nothing goes anywhere else. If you want to withdraw it later, just email and say so — I'll delete it.
